Plaid pants are the hottest trend right now! Everyone’s wearing different color plaid and it looks so cool and is a perfect transition from this summer’s gingham trend.
I have two pairs of plaid pants already, but had my eye on a red and black pair from LF, so I decided to splurge and purchase them before their infamous sale. These are so comfortable and honestly feel like pajamas, but the zippers give a subtle detailing so you can really dress these up or down!

First, I went with a more casual look. I paired these pants with a chunky knit tan sweater. The tan looks so good with the red plaid. The trick to rocking these pants is by pairing them with subtle colors and items so that it’s not overdone. I love this casual look because you look trendy, but you’re so comfortable too. I wore my black booties with them, but would also pair this look with white vans, converse, or docs (or anything similar) for an even more casual daytime look.

Next, I wanted to show you guys a great dinner outfit! I wore this to dinner in NYC and it was perfect. I paired these pants with a white turtleneck sweater, white boots, and my leopard jacket. The leopard jacket surprisingly meshes really well with the red plaid (I’ve always loved leopard and red together). I don’t think the leopard could pair with any other plaid color combo besides the red and black! This is perfect because you’re warm and you have loose fitting pants on so you can eat whatever you want lol. Another tip to pulling off these pants is, if you want to wear a bold statement piece (like a leopard coat), make sure at least two colors are the same (like my sweater and shoes are both white).

Lastly, I wanted to put together a perfect going out, clubby outfit. These pants obviously look amazing with black, so I decided to wear my straight neck bodysuit (for some subtle detailing) and black booties. I also threw on my black fur jacket to make my look more extra. Black is always perfect for going out at night, and since it’s freezing out, you need a warm layer on over your outfit. This faux fur is perfect for that and I love how it’s cropped so you can still see the high rise of the pants! You could even do an open toe heel when it’s warmer with a black lace top or an off the shoulder top!

Really like both styles! The pants are everything and like the way you mixed the print with leopard.
